'विद्या ददाति विनयं विनयाद् याति पात्रताम्।
पात्रत्वात् धनमाप्नोति धनात् धर्मं ततः सुखम्।।'
मराठी अर्थ:
विद्येमुळे माणसाला नम्रता प्राप्त होते, नम्रतेमुळे योग्यता प्राप्त होते, योग्यतेमुळे धनाची प्राप्ती होते, धनातून धर्म साध्य करता येतो आणि या सर्वांतून शेवटी माणसाला सुखाची प्राप्ती होते.
Knowledge brings humility; humility leads to worthiness; worthiness results in the acquisition of wealth; wealth enables the practice of righteousness; and ultimately, through all of this, one attains happiness.
